The Michelin Guide's review
The initial castle, built here on the foundations of a fort from 1286 then destroyed by the French army in 1673, was replaced over the years 1674-1680 by this brick building surrounded by a double moat. Wilhelm II, Emperor of Germany, lived here from 1918 to 1920, and it was here that he signed his abdication before settling in Doorn. It is admired, in particular, for its furniture, tapestries and paintings. You can also visit the renowned grounds.
