The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the 10C and 13C, the cathedral illustrates the Oriental tastes of many harbour cities. The façade (redone in 19C) stands at the top of an imposing staircase adorned with eye-catching geometrical designs in multi-coloured stone. The campanile, on the left, is all that remains of the original church. A lovely bronze door from Constantinople leads into the Baroque interior, where you can admire the ancient columns.
