Established on the bay, the Dam-en-Terre Recreation Area includes a campground, beach, rental cottages, a restaurant-theatre, hiking trails and a marina. Rowing boats, pedal-boats and bicycles are also available for rent. A scenic cruise is a particularly good way to see the Alcan aluminium plant and also the hydroelectric generating dam between the islands of Alma and Maligne, built in the early 1950s to harness the river water.
