The Michelin Guide's review
Noble rather than stately, Ragley was designed in Palladian style by Robert Hooke. James Gibbs added some of the finest plasterwork ceilings he ever produced in around 1750 and, thirty years later, Wyatt built the giant portico. The south staircase was decorated by Graham Rust between 1969 and 1983 with its ceiling of The Temptation and murals portraying classical gods and present members of the Seymour family, in a post-Realist Baroque style.
