The Michelin Guide's review
Built for a priest in Alberobello in the mid 18C, the trullo sovrano is the only trullo to have two floors. The building, with a ribbed vaulted ceiling supported by four small Romanesque arches, is crowned by no fewer than twelve cones. Inside the building, the furniture and period pieces arranged in the different rooms provide an image of an unchanging rural way of life.
