The Michelin Guide's review
Towards the end of the 12C, the highly revered Sufi Main ud-Din Chisti settled in Ajmer, attracting numerous Muslim pilgrims in his wake. He is laid to rest in the dargah of Main ud-Din Chisti, best visited, despite the crowds, during the Urs festival that takes place during the seventh month of the Muslim calendar (generally late March-early April). Worshippers gather here to the sounds of devotional songs known as qawwali.
