The Michelin Guide's review
The architecture of this remarkable limestone church blends the Poitevin (12th century) and Angevin (13th century) styles. The facade is in the vein of the Poitevin Romanesque, with its buttress-columns and (mutilated) horseman. The 13th-century bell tower is similar to the Angevin school, with its ribbed stone spire flanked by bell towers that are almost as slender as the spire itself. Situated on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, the church was designed to facilitate pilgrim traffic with its rounded chancel.
