  The Michelin Guide's review
This Doric-style temple dating from the early 5C BC is one of the best preserved in Greece. It occupies a dominant position and offers an exceptional view over the island of Aegina and the Saronic Gulf. The museum presents reconstructions of the second temple of Aphaia, which burned down c 510 BC, including a polychrome façade. However, the majority of the sculptures, sold to Ludwig II of Bavaria, are exhibited in Munich.
