The Michelin Guide's review
This bridge of Roman origin with its ogival arches trimmed with a strip of two-colour stone, was rebuilt under Roger II. Walking along the river (the Simeto) in a Northerly direction, you can see the Simeto gorges, which are, in the same way as the Alcantara gorges, the product of a lava flow whose enormous basaltic structures have been polished and had a shine put on them by the water.
