The Michelin Guide's review
Six 10m-high colossi of the royal couple, Rameses II and Nefertari, greet you in this "small temple" hewn out of the rock, which the Pharaoh dedicated to Hathor, goddess of love and maternity, and to his favourite wife. Once inside, you will see six Hathoric pillars in the pronaos, all decorated with low reliefs: note the war scenes with Rameses II and those depicting the queen playing the sistrum, the goddess's sacred instrument.
