The Michelin Guide's review
Ulsanbawi, a jagged spine of mountains with six peaks in Seoraksan National Park, has a large rocky head peaking at 873m. Allow 2hr to walk the 4.3km of spectacular bucolic path that leads from Sinheung Temple to the top. You will pass by the photogenic boulder, Heundeulbawi, which can be rocked back and forth. In strong winds the last section, a steep staircase with more than 800 steps, it can be difficult to complete. From up there, the view of the coast is extraordinary.
