Historical and archaeological site
The Michelin Guide's review
This millennia-old archaeological site is part of the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2018. An approach walk through savannah and forest leads to the foot of the tepuy. The first cave paintings on the site are then visible: rock faces dozens of metres long decorated with frescoes in shades of ochre and pink, all set against a backdrop of thick, wild vegetation.
