The Michelin Guide's review
Preikestolen is probably the most famous natural monument in Norway. Popular with photographers, advertisers, artists and tourists, this natural balcony owes its name to its completely flat shape and vertical cliff soaring some 600m above the waters of the Lysefjord. The experience sends shivers down your spine and the view of the fjord and islands is amazing. In summer, as the site gets very busy, start hiking (2hr) early in the morning to enjoy the Pulpit in peace and quiet.
