The Michelin Guide's review
An eruption in the 16th century gave it the name ‘Lake of Fire’. Today, the crater is characterised by its calm, majestic beauty and the transparency of the waters that cover its floor. It is bordered on one side by clear sandy beaches and on the other by sheer cliffs. Peninsulas jutting out into the water form the lake's distinctive silhouette.
