The Michelin Guide's review
Thanks to the countless footpaths in Sequoia National Park, one of the oldest national parks in the United States (1890), you can wander about the vast Giant Forest, which is populated by giant sequoias that are home to the most imposing specimens on the west face of the Sierra Nevada. The undisputed star is the 84m-tall General Sherman Tree. This national park is now part of Kings Canyon National Park, forming an untamed area of 3 600km2, an Eldorado for hiking enthusiasts.
