After a short but steep climb, it takes just 5 minutes to reach the summit itself (alt. 3,000 m), with its exceptional panoramic views of the Valais Alps. To the south-west are the Grand Combin and Mont Blanc. In the distance, you can make out the Meije (the boundary of the French Southern Alps). To the north is the gently sloping Plaine Morte glacier, dominated by the Wildstrubel (alt. 3,243 m).
