The Michelin Guide's review
Badwater Road is an impressive route that takes in some emblematic sites of the famous Death Valley over its course (around 80 miles there and back): the Devil's Golf Course salt pan; Badwater, the lowest point in the country at 86m below sea level; Ashford Mill, once used for extracting ores; Artists Drive, multicoloured hills. A few hiking trails lead to the fabulous lookouts of Zabriskie Point and Red Cathedral.
