The Michelin Guide's review
Lenin Peak may be considered the most accessible of the world's mountains exceeding 7 000m, but you're under no pressure to scale the second-highest peak in Central Asia. However, should you be passing through Osh, it would be a shame not to make a detour to the base camp, which in summer lies at 3 600m. A walk on the plateau affords extraordinary views of the peak, with no effort required beyond walking at high altitude. In July these incomparable surroundings host a particularly spectacular horse festival.
