The Michelin Guide's review
The present church was built between 1746 and 1750 on a terrace overlooking lake Constance, the Cistercians of Salem having entrusted the work to Peter Thumb. The Rococo style is apparent in its architecture and the painted decoration of the aisle's ceiling, the dome over the chancel and the cupola over the apse. Pilgrims venerate an early-15C Virgin above the high altar.
