The Michelin Guide's review
This small island is still little known and well preserved. It is part of an archipelago of a dozen islands in the bay of Sekotong. With no cars or scooters, not even a cidomo (cart) or bicycle, this pocket-sized island, which takes 2 hours to walk around, is currently home to just two hotels, a pearl farm and a hamlet of fishermen whose nets dry in the sun. With its white sandy beaches fringed with palm trees, Gili Asahan is the perfect place to play Robinson Crusoe.
