This very short hike (1km - 30mins return) climbs to the top of Marmite piton, from where you will enjoy panoramic views over the Salazie and Mafate cirques, on a fine day. On the way up, you will catch glimpses of the slope of the Morne de Fourche and, higher up, the foot of Marmite piton, together with stunning perspectives over the steep surrounding valleys. The trail, covered in moss and the roots of giant heather, is quite beautiful in its own right and well worth the effort.
