The Michelin Guide's review
The aquatic and plant world of the Poitevin Marshland, a Grand site de France since 2012 and Grand site d'exception, is the second wettest area of France after the Camargue. A boat ride will acquaint you with some of the 4,000km/2,485mi of navigable waterways, or you can bicycle along 800km/497mi of bicycle paths, or explore it on foot, along paths shaded by poplar and willow trees... The wet marshes and its maze of canals, offers a striking contrast to the vast flat plains of the dry marshes that finish in the sea.
