The Michelin Guide's review
Tucken away in the countryside in the middle of a grassy cemetery, the former abbey church of St Brendan's monastery (6C), which became a cathedral in the 12C, is a masterpiece of Irish religious architecture. It is above all renowned for its Romanesque red sandstone triangular doorway, a superb example of Irish ornamentation with geometric patterns, circles and triangles, as well as human and animal heads.
