The Michelin Guide's review
The Museum of the City of Łódź is housed in the palace built in the late 19C for Izrael Poznański, an extremely wealthy cotton industrialist. The residence, next to his gigantic factory, is an eclectic neo-Baroque fantasy. We discover the splendour of the place, occupied during the war by the German administration, then by that of the region until the 1970s. In some rooms, the memory of the city's distinguished citizens is honoured, such as the pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982).
