Das Ethiopian Cuisine

The Michelin Guide's review
In a classic Georgetown townhouse, Das (which in Amharic means a large tent where families and communities gather for celebrations and communal meals) has been an ambassador for Ethiopian cuisine since 2011. The menu features various wats (slow-cooked stews, like the chicken doro alicha wat, flavored with curry and tamarind and served with hard-boiled egg), tibs (sautéed dishes like shrimp with onions, red pepper, garlic and bell pepper), and plenty of vegetarian options, all eaten using the spongy pancake-type injera bread. Dessert leans classically European with baba au rhum, torta della nonna and gelato on offer.
