The Michelin Guide's review
The former Capuchin monastery provides a truly beautiful setting, with its tasteful blend of historical elements and clean, high-quality modern design. In the open kitchen, the chefs use mainly ingredients from Central Switzerland, complemented by produce from the Alpine region. In the evening, there is an appealing à la carte menu as well as a four-course ‘Tavolata’ for the whole table, which you can choose as a surprise selection or with a main course of your own choosing. In summer, the secluded monastery terrace is a particularly pleasant place to sit. Breakfast is also available, and on Sunday mornings there is a regional “monastery breakfast”. In addition to the restaurant, the monastery offers charming guest rooms, a monastery shop, a wine shop, seminar rooms, a cooking studio and guided tours of the monastery, not to mention the walk-in monastery garden “Edible Landscape” – it is open to the public and invites you to sample the ripe fruit right there on the spot.
