The Michelin Guide's review
In a small village not far from the Pont-du-Gard, Denis Martin (previously at The Marcel) and his wife Joana have set up their restaurant in a gorgeous limestone building. The chef crafts precise and expressive dishes, in which lamb from Les Baux, Mediterranean sea bass and the rich Occitan terroir take centre stage – to be savoured on the terrace or in the bright interior. Vibrant and well-balanced ceviche, medium-rare leg of lamb on an airy chickpea mousseline, verbena-infused peach, lemon biscuit and yoghurt ice cream: every dish is spot on. The weekday lunch menu is excellent value for money. Why not stay overnight in one of the guestrooms and enjoy the swimming pool (reserved for patrons). In a nutshell: the good life!
