Magis Terra’s new venue oozes charm by the bucketload, not least courtesy of its knockout terrace overlooking the Hesbaye countryside, as it provides the backdrop for Dimitry Lysens and Aagje Moens to finetune their culinary ethos. The chef’s reputation for big-boned, gutsy cooking paired with razor-sharp detail is rolled out in his take on French cuisine that reveals a passion for local produce and subtle Asian nuances. An example: grilled Kinrooi asparagus with a house XO sauce, delicate katsuobushi and a mousse of fermented asparagus. Magis has that little extra that makes all the difference.
