The Michelin Guide's review
For many years, the Ricchebuono family has been a leading name in hospitality and catering in the area, thanks to its high-quality cuisine and a warm welcome where each detail is taken care of. Today, this tradition is being carried on thanks to the contribution of the new generation: their children, Martina and Elia, work alongside their parents, both driven by a deep passion for the trade. At the heart of the experience is Giuseppe Ricchebuono, a chef of proven sensitivity and technical rigour, who is able to showcase the very best of the area’s produce through simple yet elegant dishes. Great attention is paid to seafood from Noli, which is also listed on the menu by its dialect names: ‘cicetta’, for example, refers to monkfish. In the dining room, alongside her mother, Martina expertly manages an extensive wine list divided into three sections dedicated respectively to Liguria, international wines and wines by the glass. Elia, on the other hand, guides guests through the cheese trolley, which is dedicated to regional produce. During the summer months, service moves to the picturesque terrace overlooking the small bay of Noli, offering a truly enchanting view. Set against a backdrop of extraordinary beauty, nestled between the sea and the Mediterranean scrub, the Bishop’s Palace stands as an important testament to the local historical and architectural heritage. Rounding off the property’s facilities is L’Orto del Vescovado, an outdoor area surrounded by greenery which, during the milder months, welcomes guests for aperitifs and moments of relaxation in the open air.
