This quiet street a stone's throw from Avenue Jean-Médecin is now home to Naoki Shizuka's restaurant. This French-Japanese chef with Okinawan roots is the son of the founder of Benkay, which was once the finest Japanese restaurant in Paris – so it's safe to say, he learned with the best. Previously a tattoo parlour, the premises feature a light-wood counter within their cut-stone walls. On the omakase menu, tradition is infused with modern components and bold flavours: nigiri served on three types of rice, beautifully fresh Mediterranean fish, prawns in court-bouillon with lime, ginger blossom and ikura.
