The Michelin Guide's review
Tavern by name but more of a super friendly bistro by nature, there’s something immensely likeable about this Shoreditch spot. There’s a relaxed, lively vibe to the room with its tightly packed, linen-topped tables, while the cooking has an unfussy, big-flavoured style that’s always enticing – in dishes such as the lip-smacking tandoori ‘Mallard Moat’ quail, nicely accompanied by ‘Some Chips’. There’s a touch of nose-to-tail philosophy to the menu too, thanks to dishes like the delicious smoked cod’s roe with puffed pig skins.
