At Thomas Scheucher's restaurant, the cuisine is pleasingly pared back, rooted in the classics and based on first-rate ingredients, with no showmanship but plenty of flavour and finesse. The fresh perch fillets straight from Lake Constance, for example, are excellent, and the wild-caught sea bass with shellfish foam is equally tempting. The tasteful interior has plenty of appeal, with modern artwork and designer lamps adding stylish touches. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the large garden, which is decorated with sculptures. In summer, the terrace under the shade of the trees is a delightful spot.
