Claudia and Manuel Ressi bring warmth and dedication to the running of this charming restaurant on the main square. The cuisine showcases select regional ingredients, which are presented in a kind of hybrid concept. On the one hand, there are the Austrian "Wirtshaus-Klassiker" à la carte (including Wiener schnitzel, Tafelspitz, Gailtaler Ripperl, and Backhendl), and then there is the four- to eight-course "Bärenwanderung" set menu with creative, modern dishes such as "Hühnerhof – organic chicken, beans, wild mushrooms, savory, buckwheat". You can also choose individual dishes from the set menu. The extremely friendly and attentive manager is happy to explain the provenance of the ingredients, giving guests an insight into the regional philosophy. The restaurant has two dining areas: one distinctly traditional small space and a more modern area, plus a nice terrace in front of the building. Der Kleine Bär located directly opposite has three inviting, nicely done out guestrooms. They also put on cookery courses and have an online shop – some of the produce available is made in-house.
