The Michelin Guide's review
Set on a beautiful beach of fine white sand, where there is also a small beach club, this restaurant wins you over at first glance with its relaxed and authentically Mediterranean atmosphere. The sea view, the undisputed highlight of the experience, complements the cuisine created by Roberto Pisano, whose dishes are characterised by their freshness and lightness. The menu takes the form of a single tasting menu comprising five or seven courses – a true declaration of love for the sea and its bounty, interpreted with a contemporary sensitivity and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. A focus on the conservation of marine resources, the use of each part of the fish, and the use of vegetables from the restaurant’s own vegetable garden are, in fact, the cornerstones of the restaurant’s philosophy. One of the most interesting dishes is the squid marinated in shio koji with an onion emulsion, rich in umami notes and great elegance. Also worth noting is the wine list, which, alongside an already extensive and carefully curated selection, features a section dedicated to ‘Orfanelli’ containing prestigious wines from all over the world, including historic vintages from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. At lunchtime, the menu takes on a more informal feel, while those looking for a different experience might want to head to the Bistrot di Mare, which offers a more relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
