The Michelin Guide's review
This quaint spot from Chef Ryan Brosseau pays homage to his French-Canadian mémé, Margaret, and fittingly, resembles a grandma's house. Think blue-painted façade, white-trim windows and framed paintings all set below a decorative ceiling. As for the food, this menu makes good on its promise of all things comforting and rich. Duck liver mousse, smoked rabbit pate and escargot all make for substantial appetizers. Duck à l'orange and entrecote steak come next. Dessert is non-negotiable: Swing for the sweet and salty nanaimo bars or, if available, a towering slice of carrot cake. A small bar in the back and engaging staff keep things homey and abuzz.
