About it
At Corinna Wilderness Village, in the western wilderness of Tasmania, nature is the hero. We invite you to Corinna where you can feed your soul and nourish your senses, in and around this remote settlement on the banks of a primitive river – an unforgettable experience that unlocks the secrets of the ancient takayna/Tarkine rainforest and the wild west coast of Australia's southernmost state.
Set within the Pieman River State Reserve, Corinna Wilderness Village offers rustic, contemporary cottage accommodations alongside the Pieman River, and access to a springboard of activities. Guests have the ability to enjoy the Tannin Restaurant (serving local Tasmanian produce), the Ahrberg Bar (featuring Tasmanian beer, wine and whiskey), and the outdoor communal BBQ area for those balmy Summer evenings in the wilderness.
All cottages are designed with minimalist comfort in mind, featuring a patio veranda backing directly onto the Tarkine Rainforest, a cozy gas log fire style heater, a private ensuite and fully equipped kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities. The property takes the conservation of nature seriously, and features an eco-friendly solar-power setup to operate all services and fresh, filtered rainwater tanks for water consumption.
Relax and unwind with a quality Tasmanian wine or spirit at the Ahrberg bar with views of the Pieman River, or in the privacy of your cozy, heritage style cottage. Immerse yourself in the high quality of fresh Tasmanian ingredients at Tannin Restaurant, serving breakfast (8am-9:30am), lunch (12-2pm) and dinner (6pm-Close) daily in the May-Sept months. While Tannin is closed during winter, our chefs prepare hearty meals you are able to reheat in your cottage at your leisure to ensure a full experience is on offer to all.
With fishing, different grades of nature hikes/walks, and awe-inspiring river reflections while kayaking all within yards of your doorstep, choose between a relaxing immersive forest experience in a quiet, ancient environment, or make the most of nature and immerse yourself fully in the activities that Corinna has on offer.
All questions can be answered, or activities booked, at our reception desk in the Tarkine Hotel by our friendly and informative team.
Corinna Wilderness Village is a 1 hour drive north of Zeehan, a 1 hour drive south west of Waratah, a 2 hour drive south of Burnie and Smithton, and a 3.5 hour drive west of Launceston. Directions can be obtained by using a maps application or by contacting our friendly team.
