The Michelin Guide's review
The present monument, Saragossa's second cathedral, was designed by Francisco Herrera the Younger around 1677. It is a quadrilateral, supported at regular intervals by buttresses and illuminated by a central dome. Cupolas, adorned with frescoes, some of which are early works by Goya, were added in the 18C by Ventura Rodríguez. The Chapel of the Virgin is a church in miniature which houses in a niche the pillar and Gothic wooden statue of the Virgin.
