The Michelin Guide's review
Of all the North Frisian Islands, Sylt is reputed to be the loveliest. Although relatively small (barely 100km²), it has a wide variety of landscapes, from dunes and polders to saltwater meadows, fields and never-ending expanses of mudflats vase (Watten or Wadden) and prehistoric tumuli. A long beach of fine sand runs along the west coast. Sylt is very popular with holidaymakers, and has pleasant seaside, thalassotherapy and health resorts.
