The Michelin Guide's review
Built from 1842 to 1847 by the engineer of Montricher to enable the Marseille Canal to span the Arc Valley, this 375m-long and 83m-high aqueduct features three levels. The last, which carries the pipes that transport the waters of the Durance to Marseille, is upheld by 53 arches. A non-tarmacked road (2.1km towards Petit Rigouès then a right turn to the guard's house), extends as far as the ridge of this work of civil engineering.
