Hosiery Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This museum dedicated to hosiery, for which Troyes was once the leading manufacturer in France, occupies the beautiful Renaissance-style Hôtel de Vauluisant. Several rooms illustrate the production process and the history of the hosiery industry. Exhibits include machines and looms (the oldest of which date back to the 18C), the re-creation of a 19C workshop, and a collection of stockings with embroidered, pearled and inlayed decoration.
