The Michelin Guide's review
This is one of the 6 gateways along the 13C ramparts, consolidated in subsequent centuries by a machicoliated watchpath. There is a view of the vineyards from here. One night in January 1794, Girondin outlaws (companions of Guadet) escaped through the gateway. In the distance, above the maze of tiny streets, can be seen the King's Tower and the spire of the bell tower.
