The Michelin Guide's review
Latinska Ćuprija is more than just a bridge. It is closely linked to the history of the country, and even the world: it was on this site that Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia were assassinated on 28 June 1914, the event that triggered the First World War. Today it connects the left bank of the Miljacka River to the Christian district of Latinluk. First built of wood in the 16C, then of stone, the bridge was entirely restored by a wealthy Sarajevo merchant in 1798.
