The Michelin Guide's review
This beautiful shrine named for the patron saint of Quebec is a major Catholic pilgrimage centre and welcomes some million and a half visitors every year. The enormous, twin-spired medieval-style basilica features 240 stained-glass windows and glimmering mosaics. The shrine complex includes a replica of the staircase that Christ is said to have climbed to enter Pontius Pilate's palace and which many pilgrims choose to mount on their knees.
