The Michelin Guide's review
Coddhu Vecchju is one of Sardinia's major Nuragic monuments. This complex built from local granite dates from the Middle Bronze Age and shows one of the island's oldest covered tombs with alleys (1800-1600 BC). On the frontage of the semi-circular exhedra, which is almost 14m long, stands an imposing arched menhir, 4m high and 1.90m wide; an opening at the base leads onto a 13-m long passage formed by stones. The tomb was very likely able to accommodate dozens of bodies.
