The Michelin Guide's review
The garden and buildings intended for study and experimental work remain unaltered since their establishment in 1789 by the French architect Dufourny. Here visitors will see specimens of oriental and exotic plants, such as dendrocalamus giganteus, a kind of gigantic bamboo, and the famous ficus magnolioides, the commonest species in the garden. Prepare to be amazed by the South American bombacaceae cheese plants, imported to Palermo in the late 19C.
