The Michelin Guide's review
This abbey, founded in the 13C, still has its façade and open-air nave. The long chapterhouse is a fine example of the Anglo-Norman Gothic. You can visit the huge refectory that looks out onto the sea, as well as the chaplaincy where the monks received tax on salt and grain. The Conservatoire du Littoral has set up a conversation scheme for the whole abbey estate (120ha of woods, prairies, marshland and rocky shores) and paths have been laid out.
