The Michelin Guide's review
The Villa Reale, a grandiose neo-Classical building dating from 1777, was the summer residence of the kings of Italy until the assassination of King Umberto I on 20 July 1900 just a few metres from the palace. Now fully restored, the villa is open to the public and offers a very pleasant setting for an exhibition on the history of Italian design. The vast park is home to a rose garden, a small theatre, a chapel, and, to the north, the famous racetrack on which the Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix is held every year.
