Lamartine's Childhood Home
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
A wrought-iron railing stands in front of Lamartine's childhood home. It was in this 18C residence that the poet spent his early years with his tender and affectionate mother. Throughout his life, Lamartine cherished Milly and its vineyards and was very sad when, in 1860, he had to sell the family property to avoid ruin. After visiting the garden, one can see the furnished interior (by appointment), as well as an area labelled "books and documents" devoted to his childhood, his sources of inspiration and his wine-growing activities.
