The Michelin Guide's review
Bayfront Park owes its 32-acre greensward to a dredging operation of the bay in the mid-1920s. A popular venue for many decades, the park was forsaken in the 1970s. Isamu Noguchi, renowned Japanese landscape architect, orchestrated the park's face-lift in the late 1980s. Noguchi's design also features his sculptures, the Challenger and Slide Mantra. The park is also home to an imposing fountain, a bayside boardwalk, a laser light tower and a large amphitheater, all of which have helped restore the park's popularity.
