The Michelin Guide's review
The Basilica of Mariazell, an important pilgrimage destination, has a remarkable façade, with a Gothic porch-belfry flanked by two Baroque onion-domed towers. Inside, in addition to the glittering Chapel of Mercy, note the Gothic nave, with Baroque features, which houses a series of chapels and a gallery with huge windows. The monumental East Nave, crowned with a dome, leads to a majestic high altar. In the basilica's treasure, works of art contrast with the donations of humble believers.
